Empty places never remains empty… abandon palaces are also choose the same way; we often think. Though there is always an existence; there is always an use or utilization with hesitation.
For me any kind of space, empty places never being unused; only the way of use and purpose changes. Everything is a part of nature, even that is abandoned. If people decline to utilize; nature is always there to cooperate. Almost five hundred years back somewhere in Bangladesh a Jaminder family used to live in their own estate which was containing five aristocratic building in total throughout their time period. Although this jaminder estate was started taking by the hand of Mahamanikya Dutta; but their 3rd generation Joy Dhar mainly brought fame and glory to the family. Now the jaminder estate is no more, palaces are there but no one lives in.
My Story is about Shukhair Palaces; situated in Shunamgonj; Sylhet. Total area is surrounded by the water basin. Main vehicles remain engine boat to reach far. Peoples who use to live around the palaces, they use it in many purposes. By my photos I tried to tell the story of the existing situation of the palace and the peoples whose are associated and belongs this palace in many ways. Five hundred years before jamindar used to operate this estate for their own purpose, nature is still utilizing it for own destination.
